7th Annual Mushroom Gathering

Coastal Conservation League // October 2020

Every year the Coastal Conservation League’s food and agriculture program, GrowFood Carolina, celebrates the legalization of selling foraged mushrooms in South Carolina with a big party. For the 2020 event, we switched it from a large gathering to a curated, 3-course meal inspired by mushrooms that “guests” could come pick up and eat at home.

All of the dishes were prepared and packaged by the chefs before they came to GrowFood’s warehouse to be organized for pick up. To smooth out the packing process, I created these stickers that were distributed to the corresponding chefs for them to put on their meals as they were being prepared.

Using the orders sheet, we divvied up the dishes based on people’s orders. I created stickers to go on the final bags that would be picked up by customers. These stickers have what they ordered, who the order was for, and their pick-up time.

Most importantly, I had the opportunity to go foraging and learn about different mushroom varieties, how they grow, and how people become certified foragers.
